Dentisty is not the problem it is the path.
What if the practice was the training ground for the like you actually want.
I’m not coaching what I used to know, I’m teaching what is working right now, in the trenches, as the industry changes everyday.
I’m not trying to escape the chair, to grind out 10 years to be free of dentistry, I am building a business that builds me as well. I didn’t blow up on social media and win a new patient lottery, I built this from the ground up, one decision, one system, one team member and patient at a time.
You cannot pay someone enough to do the job for you, but if you want it bad enough and put the work in I’ll help take back your life. Pain points overwhelm, scale without loosing family, health, self. Tired of chasing numbers with no fulfillment. Grow leadership to a higher level.
Here is a summary of what I came up with after my chats with GPT, I can expand and modify as needed just let me know what you think.
My Story —
From Laid Off to Leading Chairside

I graduated dental school in 2019—full of vision and a desire to make a real impact. But just a few short months in, the pandemic hit. I was laid off.
It was a low point. I had finally started to feel like I had a purpose, like I could build something that mattered—and it was gone.
But instead of wasting those three months, I used them to reset. That time became a turning point.
I made a decision: I was going to own my own practice.
Part of that decision came from frustration. I was working in an environment where I was discouraged from forming relationships with my patients and team.
I was literally told to “just be a plant.”
That’s not why I became a dentist. I got into this to connect and create impact.
Buying the Practice — The Hard Way
After cold calling and mailing every dentist over 55 in my area, I landed my #1 target office—a 5-operatory, solo-doc practice that was declining fast. But even that didn’t come easy.
I got turned down by every bank but one.
When I finally bought the practice in May 2021, I thought the hard part was over. It wasn’t.
ok a 30% hit on insurance fees on day one because the seller was grandfathered into better rates.
I found out the “office manager”—his daughter—was misallocating money and losing patients. I had to let her go, knowing it would end any good faith with the seller.
Then I discovered $30,000 in unaccounted patient credits that I had to eat. And that was just the first 6 months.
The Cost at Home
While I was getting hit from every direction at work, my home life was taking hits too.
I missed time with friends. My energy tanked.
My wife and I felt the strain. The pressure turned me inward, disconnected me from the people I loved most.
There were moments I thought: Is this really what success is supposed to feel like?
The Growth
But I didn’t give up—I grew.
I learned hard lessons about leadership:
- That being liked doesn’t mean being respected.
- That sometimes you have to let go of good-hearted people who can’t meet the standard.
- That building something new means outgrowing what was comfortable—for them and for me.
- That banks who once denied me now compete for my business—because I’ve built something that works.
We remodeled a standalone building and expanded to 12 ops, brought on 2 amazing doctors, and we’re set to end this year at $5M—with plans to expand to 22 ops next year.
But more than that, I’ve found fulfillment.
I’ve become a better leader.
Work has become lighter and more joyful—not because it’s easy, but because I finally own how I show up.
Why I Coach Now
I started Chairside Leadership™ because I know I’m not the only one who’s walked through fire trying to build something meaningful.
I’m not here to scare you.
I’m not here to sell hype or tell you to escape the op.
I’m here to help you lead better in it—and because of it.
This is for dentists who want to lead with clarity, strength, and purpose—in their practice, their home, and their own mind.
